Position Description
Provides support to in the execution of the Marine Corps Certification Program, and compliance with Marine Corps Order (MCO) P10120.28, individual Clothing Regulations. As a SME, the textile technologist will:
Responsibilities
- Conduct research leading to improvements in ballistic, flame resistance, and other fabrics of interest for military applications
- Support the development of product specifications and other technical documentation in support of textile technology programs
- Conduct fabric and textile component testing to support R&D and current textile-based acquisition program
- Utilize textile processing expertise to identify, track, or mitigate technical risks for military clothing and body armor acquisition programs
- Provide customer support and problem-solving expertise to textile and fabric users, manufacturers, and other USMC stakeholders.
- Support systems engineering efforts with a direct role in test planning and evaluation, requirements analysis, requirements verification, design verification, systems analysis, systems control and the development and delivery of associated systems engineering artifacts
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lumbee Program Manager
