Position Summary:
The Capture Director is responsible for leading and managing the capture lifecycle of strategic business opportunities in the federal government markets (i.e. Department of Defense (DoD), Department of State (DoS, etc). This role focuses on shaping and positioning the company to win competitive pursuits by developing and executing comprehensive capture strategies. The Capture Director collaborates closely with BD, proposal, technical, pricing, and operations teams to ensure alignment and readiness throughout the capture process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead capture efforts for high-value opportunities (typically $20M+), from identification through proposal submission.
- Engage with government customers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to shape opportunities and influence RFP requirements.
- Analyze government solicitations (RFIs, RFPs, SSNs), customer requirements, and competitor landscape to develop a compelling win strategy.
- Develop and maintain capture plans, win themes, call plans, gate reviews, and risk assessments.
- Support pricing strategy, teaming decisions, and proposal development planning.
- Lead teaming negotiations and coordination, including NDAs and Teaming Agreements.
- Prepare and deliver executive briefings on capture status and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Interacts routinely with all levels of management, functional POCs, staff, and customers, and follows through on tasking with excellent time management.
- Participates in and/or attends bidder conferences, oral presentations and site surveys.
- Build and lead cross-functional capture teams that may include operations, engineering, contracts, pricing, and SMEs as needed.
- Assess company capability posture and compare to opportunities; both service delivery capability and corporate compliance to requirements (i.e. CMMC).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in federal business development, with 5+ years in a capture management role supporting programs.
- Proven track record of winning large, competitive government contracts.
- Strong understanding of acquisition processes, FAR/DFARS, and procurement lifecycle.
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional team environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or Capture Management certification (e.g., Shipley).
- Experience working with classified contracts and facilities.
- Active Secret or higher security clearance.
- Familiarity with tools such as GovWin, SAM.gov, Salesforce, Unanet, or similar.
Working Conditions & Clearance:
Remote or hybrid work is possible depending on contract and team requirements.

Security Clearance Requirements
Current Secret clearance with ability to transfer required. Position supports federal contracts with immediate clearance verification requirements. Clearance level will be verified prior to the start date. Must be able to maintain clearance throughout employment with clearance reciprocity/transfer
