Position Description

The Air C2 Systems Engineer (SysAd) is a senior systems engineer responsible for leading teams in providing technical support and expertise for test, engineering, and training efforts related to Air C2 systems. The individual defines and organizes engineering activities, develops solutions to complex technical problems, and manages resources to accomplish multiple project goals. This role requires leadership skills, extensive technical expertise in aviation C2 systems, and the ability to mentor others.

Essential Position Functions

• Five years' experience as a systems engineer.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field.
• Two years' experience performing engineering, software development, testing, or system administration of Air C2 systems such as CAC2S, CTN, or TBMCS.
• Experience in project management, configuration management and quality control procedures.
• Experience administering VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows Server Operating Systems (desired).
• Experience in Microsoft Active Directory (desired).
• Working knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching (desired).
• CompTIA Security+ certification (desired).
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) (desired).
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (desired).
• Certified Systems Engineering Professional (desired).
•  Other[GG2]  duties as assigned to support team goals and maintain operational efficiency

Competencies for the role

The Air C2 Systems Engineer (SysAd) demonstrates advanced leadership and technical expertise in managing complex engineering projects related to Air C2 systems. This role requires strong project management skills, the ability to mentor and guide technical teams, and proficiency in developing and implementing solutions to diverse technical challenges across multiple disciplines.

Physical Requirements for the role

This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including viewing monitors, using keyboards, and operating standard office equipment. The role may require occasional standing, walking, and minimal lifting (up to 10 pounds).

Work Environment

The work environment for this position is primarily a professional office or remote setting with standard business conditions. The role involves regular use of computers and related technology in a low-noise environment and frequent collaboration with technical and non-technical team members. Work is generally performed during normal business hours with minimal physical risk, and the environment supports adherence to established cybersecurity, safety, and organizational policies.

Travel is anticipated to be 30% - 50% within the Continental United States and 10%-25% outside[GG3]  the Continental United States

Compensation

$120,000 - $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
